Features
◆ Protects high-voltage circuits and equipment from over current and short circuit current
◆ Economically effective and has high interruption abilities
◆ The lightest product available in the market
◆ Has 50kA of interruption capacity, which makes it the perfect product for circuit protection
- Watertightness-high quality
Fuse manufactured by Joongwon uses patented manufacturing system and even homogeneous parts and therefore offers watertightness in any situations. The company also monitors 100% of its products very thoroughly to ensure that its excellent manufacturing processes are always implemented.
Through this, Joongwon fuse has a safety life of 30 years indoors and outdoors. - Consumption-low power loss
The size of fuse holders used in equipments such as SF6 gas insulated switchgear (GIS) has been minimized. Therefore, it needs an additional way of releasing the heat that is generated.
As shown in its electrical specification, Joongwon fuse has a very low electricity consumption, and therefore generates little heat.
This shows that the quality of Joongwon fuse in comparison to other products in the market is definitely better. - Minimum melting current-breaking capacity
Joongwon fuse has been made according to international standards, meaning that it can interrupt current in any situations including minimum fusing current and rated breaking current.
Also, it has a low minimum fusing current compared to other products in the market, while having a larger rated breaking current, which makes it a better option for circuit protection.
This is Joongwon fuse’s unique characteristic, which proves its superior quality. - Searchability-control
Quality monitoring system of Joongwon aims to minimize permissible variety in quality including part shelf-life, main circuit resistance (20℃) and weight. Such information is automatically stored in a computer system.
Applications

Cut-off current characteristics to 36kV
High-voltage limiting current fuse effectively limits the current flowing in a circuit.
The fuse acts quickly in the presence of short circuit current, which means that the maximum short circuit current is interrupted before 1/2 cycle.
Example) in a circuit with short circuit current of 10kA
If the wave of the circuit is symmetrical, its maximum instantaneous current reaches 14kA (point A). If it is asymmetrical, its maximum instantaneous current reaches 25kA (point B). In any case, if the circuit uses a rate current of 40A, the maximum instantaneous current is limited at 5.3 kA (point C)

The fuse’s specification must be below the over current of the circuit or equipment that is to be protected. The heat released from its activity must be smaller than the short circuit.
If you are using the fuse as a back up of a protective equipment, you need to make sure that the protective equipment acts quicker than the fuse in current that is below the minimum interruption current of the fuse.
You also need to make sure that the fuse acts quicker than the protective equipment of the power, but later than that of the resistance aspect.
Selection condition
Transformer magnetizing current is hypothesized to last for 0.1s in the magnitude of 10 on the transformer full-load current.
Interruption within 0.2 s in the second short circuit current of the transformer.
